Who the eff is willpenn? lol
Who can’t look at Tay in Grease? If someone wrote that, it seems to me they may be looking for sympathizers. That means company. it’s not everyone’s cup of tea I suppose, but they don’t have to fund a tour in 2009 and open a club in Birmingham. So unless you walk a mile in a man’s shoes…
Just sayin.
WOW, I thought. How cool is this, but WAIT , they don’t agree with me either? I was shattered, but I digress here. How nice it was for them to thumbnail my life and my character into one or two small sentences. I could have saved alot of money on therapy all those years. And my therapist told me that I was a complex person. Geez, this person figured me out in a few sentences. I was desperate for attention, so that is why I choose not to see Taylor in Grease. Then they totally got me when they said that I was looking for attention so that people would comment on my piece. Then they were even smart enough to get into my bank account to see that I was sitting on millions of dollars but I was being miserly about the few bucks that I could have thrown to Taylor to make his life better for his 2009 tour. Not to mention that I am now going to contact the Contractors in Birmingham and offer to buy all the bricks that they need to build his club. But I guess I was wrong all along because I chose to walk in my own shoes instead of Taylors. SIGH !!!! Bad fan !!! Then, wounded and torn apart at the horrible mistake I had made, I continued to scroll down to find another post about me at 11:15 pm.
(Oh… and poster…. your bulb seems to have burnt out !)
That link stinks. that willpenn link up there. it stinks big time.
Sigh again !!! I told myself that I should have used that new deodorant this morning.
UPDATE !
August 11, 2008
Last evening I received a very nice comment from Susan requesting that I go back to the original site that had generated this post. I promised her I would so here I am.
Upon further investigation I did find that I had missed certain parts of one post and some additional posts. So here goes. I am a person of my word and have no problem rectifying anything wrong that I may have done to someone.
To the person that I had quoted in my first post from August 7, 2008 at 11:09 pm , I accidently left out the first part of their post.
I read that blog and it is a very nice and well written blog.
While I would like to thank them for the compliment, I have to admit that I still don’t understand why they can’t understand my reasons for not seeing the show. As for refusing to look, that in fact is not true. Back in 1972 when the original production was on Broadway I actually did see it and I actually liked it. In addition to having seen the original Broadway production, I was also in my High School production of Grease in 1973. The next thing that I would like to mention is that this particular revival version of Grease has been watered down somewhat to make it more child friendly. Not only have certain songs been removed from the original stage version, but other songs have been added from the movie version which I frankly never cared for at all. So to the poster from 11:09, I hope that I have answered any more qualms that you may have had.
The second error that I came upon was something that had apparently been added after I originally read it.

That link stinks. that willpenn link up there. it stinks big time.
ETA: lol, my bad. I put two “n’s” in the link. Use one “n” dot wordpress dot com. That will take you to it.
As I said before, when I am wrong I will admit it. My apologies to the author of this post. I appreciate the fact that you were nice enough to post my link. As for my deodorant that day, it turns out that I really should have used the new one. ( insert smile here)
The next three posts were ones that I had originally missed the first time around. Again I apologize. Here they are in their entirety. Again names have been remove to protect the innocent. It seems however that all these posters seem to have a problem understanding my reasons for not seeing Grease, since they just continue to beat the same horse dead over and over. Sigh !

It was a very nice blog. And the person is not againist Taylor being in Grease. You would have to read it. But just wants to wait till hes back doing his regular thing.
Its just hard for me to understand now you can decide on what you haven’t seen, thats all.
A lot of it is about how Broadway and New York have changed.
The link didn’t work for some reason, but it is in Google alerts.

To me, her opinion and reasoning for it are so eloquently stated that I have to respect it. She’s a fan, there’s no denying that when you read her other posts.

I agree, it is very well written.
But I have eclectic tastes I guess and its kind of like if an author that I loved wrote an entirely different kind of book than he had ever written before and on a subject I didn’t think I would like, I would still have to take a look before I decided. I might hate it, but I have to see. I’m always willing to try something new even when I think I won’t like it. I’ve been surprised lots of times.
So after reexamining the posts that I neglected to include the first time, It seems that my original frustration, as a Taylor fan that does not care to see Grease for whatever reason, still rings loud and clear.

I read your blog about broadway, but I don’t think the above 3 did based on their comments. You made me laugh just now. I,m putting out a lot of money to travel to N.Y. in 6 days to see Taylor in Grease and if I were local I”d probably see the show a few times. I’m going because I enjoy Taylor and want to show support. I hope you continue to blog about Tay as you seem grounded and are a good writer.
Well, it seems you’re getting the introduction to the internet fan base that is Mr. Hicks’ cross to bear. Rosie excluded, most are quick to jump to judgment.
I’d like to think it’s merely a lack of reading comprehension skills and not hold too much to heart what some of the ‘critics’ in fan land come out with. You seem to be quite an eloquent writer. Honesty the best policy.
Regarding whether they don’t like you or want to lump you into a category within a few choice ill written sentences, welcome to my world in the land of Hicks. ha. Now since I’ve posted here you might find some like you even less.
Spin,
Lack of reading comprehension would be good compared to the fact that they probably don’t even read over a certain elementary grade level.
As for taking them to heart, I laughed so hard at my own response that I had to stop and go to the bathroom. My take on these kind of mentalities is to put a mirror back up to their own faces so that they “hopefully” can see how silly and stupid they actually sound.
I am ready to join the struggle to help rid Taylor from these non-fan fans. Maybe only then will he be able to write some serious music.
Thanks for your comments. Your writing is very much what I like as well.
Maybe I could add something. I also read the blog where those comments were.
One lady liked your blog so much she was teary eyed. Did you see that?
One liked it very much but was a little bothered about deciding on something you hadn’t seen. Maybe she did misunderstand. But she did like your blog and your writing.
One didn’t know what they were talking about and shouldn’t have said anything.
And one said the link stunk because it did. It didn’t work. It was a bad link. I don’t know if she ever read the blog.
Seems there was misunderstanding all the way around.
Susan11,
Point taken. I will go back there tomorrow to re-read those posts and post any changes that I think are necessary. Thanks for your comments.
Willpen
susan was right. I posted that the link stunk because I went to click it and it did not work. I never said the blog stunk.
I think the reading skills deficiency is not in this blogger.
Sorry to say that, but I was simply stating the truth that the LINK was bad.
Sunny you really need to stop attacking me. I am not the enemy.
I don’t want enemies either, life is too short.
brightlite, I have no idea what you’re talking about – I haven’t said anything here about you, per se. Seems you’re having problems in communications and intent.
I had no idea she was quoting you, she does not list your name. I was making a general comment about the state of some of the fans on-line.
Man, you make yourself look bad by writing something like that. Perhaps you were taking it for granted I memorized something you thought I read someplace else and had in filed away in my curvy gray matter. Remember ‘assume’ and the humorous meaning to that word…
ok then let’s not go anywhere near this for I am enjoying just writing and expressing in a non-confrntational manner.
I am not going to say why I thought you referenced me, it will turn into a cut and paste/she said-she said routine and I can’t stomach any of that. I don’t cut and paste.
I thought we were all beyond that, that’s all.
I really want to just walk in Taylor’s fan world in peace. I never joined the Hicks kingdom to hurt anyone and/or fight.
I got a little caught up in it, probably to defend myself and him, but it is not my nature to war.
Let’s all just coexist.
Be well.
Man, I’m good with that Brightlite.
